Claude’s Obituary Claude B Reeder, 75, was born on December 20, 1943 to the late James W. Reeder Sr. and Jeanne Anderson Reeder in Memphis, TN. He met and married the love of his life, Debbie D. Reeder, in 1998 in New Orleans and relocated to Lafayette in 2007. Claude had a wonderful zest for life.

He was a true gentlemen and a class act. He retired from McDonough Marine Service, as Vice-President of Sales, after 35 years of service. He loved the art of the deal and the people he worked with in the business.

He graduated from Mississippi State University on a baseball scholarship and never hesitated to tell anyone that he pitched against Hank Aaron. His second passion was golf and belonged to LeTriomphe Country Club. He loved the camaraderie; once you met him, he was someone you would remember and he never met a stranger.

He loved cooking, especially grilling before the Saints games. He also loved traveling. He and Debbie traveled to 14 countries.

He was a great joke teller and had great stories, although you may have heard them more than once. He valued everyone’s friendship and had many. He was a loving husband, father, step-father and doting grandfather.

He will be deeply missed by everyone. Claude departed this life on January 7, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He leaves many loved ones to cherish his memory wife Debbie D. Reeder of Lafayette, LA; daughters, Debbie Reeder Ulrich (Allen) of River Ridge, LA, Sarah Reeder Layton (Dan) of Broomfield, CO; mother Jeanne Reeder; brother Charles Reeder; step-daughter, Leah J. Manfre (R.J.) of Morgan City, LA.

; step-son, Ryan P. Manfre (Courtney) of Youngsville, LA. ; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Allison, Reagan, Ben, Vivian, Jonathan, Brett, Maddox, Kinslee and Bella; and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Claude is preceded in death by his father James W. Reeder, Sr.; brother, James W. Reeder, Jr.; and his sister, Dian Reeder Kelly.
