Obituary for Delbert G Welte Delbert G. Welte, 84 of Evansville, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born September 2, 1933 in Warrick County, IN to late Leona (Wagner) and Albert A. Welte. Del worked at Servel and then served in the U. S. Army in Germany.
After service he was employed at A & H Truck Lines for over 30 years. He later worked at Pony Express and retired from Heritage Liquor. He was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral, the Men’s Maintenance group and Knights of Columbus.
Del volunteered at Tri State Food bank since 1988 and worked with Habitat for Humanity since 1999. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Welte; daughters, Deborah (Steve) Walter and Brenda (Don) Buescher; son, Leonard (Tonda) Welte; grandchildren, Alex Cody, Travis Walter, Sarah Welte; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Albert Welte, Charles Welte, Eugene Welte, and Virgil Welte; sisters, Marjorie Sandleben and Janet Roe. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Vincent Welte.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel 800 S. Hebron, Evansville, IN 47714. Prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 9:30 am Friday, July 20, 2018, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave.
, Evansville, IN 47714 with Father Godfrey Mullen and Father Ted Tempel officiating. Burial will at St. John Cemetery, Daylight, IN.
