Obituary for Dennis Dale Nelson Dennis D. Nelson, 65, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Spirit of Life Church from 12-2 on Saturday, June 30, 2018. A gathering will follow at the Sportsman’s Bar.

All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Dennis was born on July 20, 1952 to Delven and Florence (Reimers) Nelson. He was raised and received his education in St. Paul.

Dennis owned and operated the Sportsman’s Bar for 29 years. He was instrumental in bringing a dart league to Grand Island. Dennis was a member of the Abate motorcycle group and loved demo derbies.

His generosity for others was exemplified by donating the proceeds from a Poker Run in his honor to Toys for Tots. He loved life and his greatest joy was his family. Those left to cherish his memories include his beloved canine companion, Cam; his children, Mikyle Thorne and Beau Nelson; his mother, Florence Nelson; sister, Kay Bruns and multiple nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father; brother-in-law, Ralph Bruns; and aunts and uncles. Memorials are suggested to Toys for Tots, Hope Harbor and Crossroads Shelter in Hastings. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Dennis Dale Nelson please visit our Sympathy Store.
