Obituary for James “Jim” Bradley Welch Sr. James “Jim” Bradley Welch, Sr., 69, of Grand Island, died July 20, 2018, at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home. Rick Davison will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Jim was born on January 11, 1949, to George and Doris (Bennett) Welch. He was raised and received his education in Grand Island.

He loved to work on cars, as well as go fishing and four- wheeling in his younger years. Jim married Connie Thayer on March 13, 1966. Two children were blessed into this union; James, Jr., and Jeffery.

He made his living as an auto glass installer and worked at Cornhusker Plant. He also owned Jim’s Glass & Tops for a number of years before selling it to State Glass, where he continued to work until retiring two years ago. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie; children James Welch, Jr., and Jeffery Welch: grandchildren, Cody and Jessika Jo of North Platte, Jeffery, Jacob, and Madilynn of Grand Island, Nicole of Alliance, and Rylee, Gracie, and Baylee of North Platte.

Also surviving him are Carol (Bud) Starkey of Omaha, Oren Welch of Grand Island, Donna (Steve) Magnuson of Grand Island, Barb (Chuck) Core of Atlanta, GA. , and Julie (Howard) Cottam of San Diego, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George Welch, and sisters Gayle Newman and Deanna Barnum.
