Obituary for Dale Schleichardt Dale Schleichardt, 82, of Grand Island passed away on July 7, 2018. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery, with military honors rendered by the Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Dale was born September 20, 1935 in Hall County to Herbert and Catharine (Seaman) Schleichardt.

He attended Hall County rural schools and graduated in 1953 from Doniphan High School. After graduation he entered the United States Army and was discharged in March of 1957. Dale married Nancy Petersen on May 31, 1959 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island.

He joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #1187 and worked his apprenticeship with Lacy Building & Supply Co. Later he worked for John Claussen Sons Construction and Mid-Plains Construction until 1972 when he started his own construction company, Schleichardt Construction. He was a member of the Platt Duetsche, a life member of the NRA and an avid supporter of Friends of NRA and Pheasants Forever. In his retirement he enjoyed collecting old tools and antiques and spending time with his morning coffee group at Tommy’s Restaurant.

Dale adored all of the many cats and dogs that called their farm home. To make naming all of the cats easier Dale’s family would often use tool names or pop brands. Dale was a devoted Husker fan and enjoyed attending a few football games.

He dearly loved when his grandson Devon would come and spend a time each summer with them. He is survived by his wife Nancy, two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane (Diane) Schleichardt of Phillips and Dan (Meredith) Schleichardt of Grand Island, one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie (Donald) Solt of Brewster, MN, one sister & brother-in-law, Erlene (O. Bryan) Nelson of Yelm, WA.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Dustin Schleichardt, Danielle Stamper, Devon Solt, Simon and Noah Javorsky, Brad Lassen and Kelli Krzycki; great grandchildren, Emily Winter, Desmond and Eloise Schleichardt, Kimberlee Stamper, Mercedes, Jaydon and Hunter Lassen, and Kennadi and Tucker Krzycki; Great-great grandchild, Walker Lee Schramm. Two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Ron) Adams of Grand Island, and Linda Petersen of Lincoln, NE, a brother-in-law, Roger (Eugena) Petersen of Grand Island, and several nieces and nephews. His father Herbert, mother Catherine, stepfather Harry Seier and an infant grandson Michael Solt preceded him in death.
