Obituary for Dennis Richard Doggett Services for Dennis Richard Doggett age 69 of Ovett will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel Mississippi. Visitation will be held On Monday November 19, 2018 from 5- 8 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Rev Colin Rowell and Rev Bill Myers will officiate at the service.
Burial will be in the Florence Cemetery in Sandersville. Mr Doggett was born in Laurel and moved to Ovett at the age of 9. He lived in the same house for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Doggett, sister Nell Marie Bowles, nephew David Wilson and six half brothers and sisters. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ovett. He served in the US Navy and was expert rifleman.
He was and avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was proud of his Union N.T.L and Local Boilermaker #10 where he was a member for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Doggett of Ovett, MS; Son, Dennis Adam Doggett of Ovett, MS.
Two Daughters, Misty Doggett Blackledge (Jeff) of Myrick Community and Kristy Doggett Whiteaker (Michael) of Carriere MS. Two Sisters; Leona Doggett McDonald (Danny) of Ellisville, MS and Betty Doggett Raezer (Dave) of McCormick SC; Eight Grandchildren, Jade (Zac) Chislom, Mallory Blackledge, Makayle Whiteaker, Jacob Blackledge, Haydan Whiteaker, Logan Doggett, Emory Whiteaker, Bentley Whiteaker. And One Great-Grandchild on the way.
Pallbearers will be Michael Whiteaker, Levi Rodriguez, Zac Chisolm, Jacob Blackledge, Jeff Blackledge, Tayler Gainey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Doggett, Josh Overstreet, Al Zuniga, Quincy Welch, Harrison Evans, Bobby Evans, Hoot Knight, KD Landrum, Brandon Winfree, Billy Doggette, Ed Nichols, Grover Doggette, Leonard Scaturro, Barry Raezer, Dan Raezer, Alton Crager. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Veterans Memorial Museum, 920 Hillcrest Dr, Laurel, MS 39440 Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
