Donald’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Donald Nugent will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Jack West officiating. Interment will follow in Bob Baptist Church Cemetery, Little River, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Mr. Nugent, 75, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 18, 2019 at his residence.

Donald was a retired Assistant Fire Chief with the Pineville Fire Department. He was a founding member of South Land Bluegrass where he was an accomplished multi-talented musician playing the fiddle, banjo, dobro, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and piano. Donald also enjoyed hunting and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Nugent is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Laura Nugent; one sister, Ima Ann Gilrease; two brothers, Trois Nugent and Buster Nugent. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one daughter, Laraina Richerson and her husband David of Jena; three sons, Donald Nugent, II and his wife Dana of Jena, Shelton Nugent of Jena, Byron Nugent of Deville; one sister, Eddye Durand and her husband Barney of Pollock; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
