Kyle’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Kyle Anthony Vidrine will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Basile, with Father Matthew Hebert officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Soileau, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin. Mr. Vidrine, 37, of Soileau, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.

He was a member of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Duralde, where he was an usher and a member of Knights of Columbus, A.C.T.S. and he also completed a Cursillo. He was the welding instructor at the Oakdale Campus of SOWELA for fifteen years and had a passion for hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

He had a great love for the New Orleans Saints and an even greater love for his faith and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Annie Vidrine and his maternal grandmother, Carol Deshotel.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fourteen years, Ashley Reed Vidrine, of Soileau; one son, Brooks Matthew Vidrine, of Soileau; two daughters, Olivia Kate Vidrine and Sara Grace Vidrine, both of Soileau; his parents, Wendell and Florence Vidrine, of Soileau; one brother, Jason Paul Vidrine, of Soileau; one sister, Ashley Marie Vidrine, of River Ridge; nephew and godson, Landon Paul Vidrine, of Soileau; maternal grandfather, Herman Deshotel, of Soileau; sister-in-law, Krystle Smith and her husband, Jim, of Soileau; father and mother-in-law, Lane and Cheryl Reed, of Basile and nieces and nephews, Charlee, Kynadee and Riggins Smith, all of Soileau. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. until time of departure for the church.
