Donald Edwin Peterson , October 24, 1949 — May 19, 2018

Donald Peterson passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2018 at his home in Provo, Utah. He was born on October 24th, 1949 in Provo, Utah to Eric and Ellen Peterson. He was the fourth of five sons.

Don married Kristine Carson on September 14, 1968. Don served in the United States Air Force Reserves in 1969. Don and Kristine had two sons, Eric and John.

Their family moved to Fortuna, California, where Don worked for the Pacific Lumber Company for 21 years. He also was a member of the volunteer fire department. Don moved back to Utah in 1992, where he later met and married Debbie Jorgensen Reece on May 1st, 2000.

Don was a big man, with an even bigger personality, who had a song and a story for everything! He had many interests, he was a very skilled mechanic and carpenter. He loved anything to do with Mopar muscle cars, and was an announcer for drag races at Rocky Mountain Raceway for several years.

Don was active in the communities and church organizations he was a part of, where he enjoyed making friends and building relationships. Don loved spending time with his children and adored his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Eric (Holly), John (Charlotte); stepchildren Megann (Marc) Brimhall, and Luke (Meikel) Reece; his brothers Richard (Cheryl), David (Francine), Douglas (Tina), Darryl (Darci) Peterson; and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11am in the Grandview East Stake Center, 1081 W 1060 N, Provo, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
