Donald R. “Nance” Black, age 85 of Aspers, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at York Hospital. He was born Monday, July 18, 1932 on the family farm in Wenksville, the son of the late Waybright and Catherine (Kuhn) Black. From a young age he took up the family trade of farming.

He was a township supervisor for Menallen Township for 18 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fay E. (McCauslin) Black, children, Diane Myers of Aspers, Phillip R. Black of Aspers, Randy L. Black (Ellen) of Aspers and Alan W. Black (Kim) of Aspers, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Heller of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Sarah, John, Edna, Alice, Mearl, Marvel, Ruth, Waybright, Jr. and Charles, grandsons, Keith Black, Eric Black and John Myers, and son-in-law, Roscoe Myers. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main St., Bendersville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 26 at Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Wenksville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wenksville United Methodist Church.

Visitation will also be at the church from 1:00 PM until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville, PA 17307 or the Bendersville Fire Company, PO Box 254, Bendersville, PA 17306.
