Obituary for Donald Ray Compton Donald Ray Compton Shongaloo, LA Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ray Compton, age 79, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Chaplain William “Buster” Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery, Emerson, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mr. Compton was born on March 19, 1939 to Eldridge Everette and Erma Christene Nelson Compton in Springhill, LA and passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in Springhill, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a retired carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Jeffery Barton of Shreveport, LA; Robyn Setzer and husband, David of Sand Springs, OK; Mary Melissa “Missie” Compton of Minneapolis, MN; Melania Compton and John Baugh of Zwolle, LA; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Baker and husband, Tommy; Joyce Benefield and husband, Cecil all of Shongaloo, LA. Mr. Compton was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Lynn Baker, Dillon Blackwell, Dakota Mouser, Nolan Slack, David Setzer and Robert Birchfield.
