Obituary of Donald Dillon Donald Jay Dillon, age 83, of Corning, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Donald was born December 24, 1934 in Corning, NY to Orvis G. and Mary (Houghtaling) Dillon. Don was a 1954 graduate of CFA; then he enlisted into the Army from 1954 to 1956.

He retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service. Donald was a sports enthusiast and avid basketball fan. He was a NCAA basketball official for JV/ Varsity High School, and Jr. College.

When his children where young, he enjoyed coaching them in Little League. He was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church and served on the Board of Vestry for many years. Don will also be remembered as an avid dog lover.

He is survived by Jane Dillion of Painted Post; three children: David (Mary) Dillon of Little River, SC, Susan (Charles) LaBar of Georgetown, FL, Christopher W. (Lisa) Dillon of McKinney, TX; grandchildren: Jason, Ben, Justina, Ryan, Kristen, and Aly; great grandchildren: Braxton and Jack; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his siblings: Sonny, Ruth, Louise; and beloved dog, Cindy. Memorial donations can be directed to your local SPCA and/or Christ Episcopal Church in Corning.

Family and friends are invited to call at Christ Episcopal Church, 33 E. 1st St, Corning, NY 14830 on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm with a funeral Mass immediately following. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
