Obituary of Dorothy McChesney Dorothy P. McChesney, age 90, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center in Bath, NY. She was born in Corning on September 6, 1928, the daughter of Raymond and Helen Harrington. She was married to the late William on October 12, 1946.

She will be remembered by her family as an independent and strong-willed woman, who cared dearly for her family. She loved to crochet; giving her pieces as Christmas gifts to family and friends. Dorothy is survived children: Sandra (Warren) Pound of Corning, Thomas (Chrissie) McChesney of Beaver Dams, George (Sylvia) McChesney of Corning, NY; siblings: Leona Reed of PA, Coley (Jane) Harrington of Syracuse, NY, Max (Carol) Harrington of Rochester, NY, Ronnie (Amy) Harrington of Beaver Dams, Roy Harrington of Beaver Dams, Ruth Plaisted of Corning, Pat Lott of Corning, Bernice Blodgett of Corning, Eddie Harrington of Corning, Leon Harrington of Corning, Linda Keeney of Corning, Richard (Sandy) Harrington of Pine City, Carol Zachary of Horseheads; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 47 year, William McChesney on September 18, 1993; her brother, Walter Harrington, and grandson, Douglas McChesney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the charity of one’s choice. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter’s Funeral Home 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm with Rev. Scott Greene officiating. Burial will be held in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats on Saturday at 10:00am.
