Obituary for Edward Dean Mohr Edward Dean Mohr, 72, of Murphysboro, passed away at 6:23 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, IL. Dean was born in Pinckneyville, IL, on January 12, 1946, a son to the late Edward P. and Emma R. Walkenhorst Mohr. He was united in marriage to Patricia L. McKelvey in Pinckneyville, IL, on March 1, 1969.

Patricia survives of Murphysboro. Dean was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville. He was U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.

He also was a retired custodian for Murphysboro School District 186 last working at McElvain School. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 21, 2018, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pinckneyville; Rev. Cindy Bean of St. Paul United Church of Christ will officiate.

Burial will follow services at Galum Cemetery near Pinckneyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the Dream Pillows Foundation.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Mohr of Murphysboro; one son and daughter-in-law, Frankie Dean and Andriah Mohr of Mesa, AZ; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Carl Mohr and Carolyn Mohr of Pinckneyville, Robert Mohr of Cutler; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Deloris Bender of Pinckneyville, Mary and Charles Greer of Pinckneyville, and Emma Jean and Terry Johnson of Coulterville; four grandchildren, Allysann (Paul) Gordon, Milo Mohr, McKelvey Mohr and Josiah Mohr, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Belva Lynn Mohr, one grandchild, Piper Lynn Miller, one brother, Russell Mohr, four sisters, Laura Epplin, Betty Brostmeyer, Martha Kendrick and Dorothy Storz.
