Obituary of Edwin Reginald Devereux Edwin Reginald Devereux, 74, of Bay City, our kind and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather was born into eternal life on the evening of Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Ed was born in Middletown, CT on June 7, 1943, the son of the late Reginald and Theresa (La Chase) Devereux. He graduated from Nashua Sr. High School in 1961 and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1967.

On October 4, 1969, Ed was united in marriage to the former Gloria Gasta. He was a self-employed industrial product salesman and was known for his strong work ethic. Ed enjoyed golfing, walking, 60’s music, but most of all was devoted to his family, especially his grandson.

Ed was a former member of St. Boniface Church, where he was a lector. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Gloria and their children: David (Heidi) Devereux, Michelle Devereux (Jordan Baird), Marc (Eva) Devereux, and his wonderful grandson, Jack Devereux. Also surviving are Ed’s brothers-in-law, Bill Gasta, Michael Gasta, Ron (Sandy) Gasta, Steve Moellering, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Ed was welcomed home to heaven by his sister, Jeanette Wasicki; nephew, David Wasicki; in-laws, Chester and Romaine Gasta; sisters-in-law, Dee Moellering, Sara Gasta, and brother-in-law, Carl (Joy) Gasta. Ed’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 9:00 AM until Ed’s 11:00 AM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. , Hampton Twp.

Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with burial to be held privately. Memorial contributions may be directed to Golden Horizons, 1001 Marsac St., Bay City, MI 48708 or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.
