Obituary for Ethel Mae Love Zeagler Ethel Mae Love Zeagler , 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2018, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Laurel Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. Bill Hayes and Rev.

Greg Forbus officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 27th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Interment will be at Heidelberg Cemetery.

Ethel was born in Monte Vista, Colorado on June 24, 1926, where her father was a “rockhound”. She spent her early years moving all over Colorado due to her dad’s career. After meeting RC Zeagler, they married and were married for 63 years, until his death in 2008.

They eventually made their way from Colorado, to Texas and then to Heidelberg where she has resided for the past 58 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and, above all else, a true and faithful servant of God. All those who knew her will always have memories of her labors of love, such as cooking and baking for family and friends.

Ethel’s house was always open to all, and she was a second mom and “Mamaw” to many. Her gift of giving selflessly to others was seen daily. The residents of Heidelberg will remember her and her many years of service and dedication at the Mary Weems Parker Memorial Library.

Next to her children and grandchildren, Ethel’s greatest passion was working many countless hours with some of her church family. They washed, ironed, and mended used clothing and other items preparing for the Laurel Seventh Day Adventist semi-annual rummage sales. Her dedication to this project was recognized by the church when they named their work house “Ethel’s Place”.

She truly loved the fellowship with all her co-workers during these events which helped to sponsor children attending church camp and to help pay off the church building fund debt. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, RC Zeagler and daughter-in-law, Linda Zeagler. She is survived by her sons Richard Zeagler and Rodney Zeagler (Lucile), daughters Glenda McCraw (Johnie) and Lynetta Welch (Morris); 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a special granddaughter, Toni Dykes Hoppes.

Pallbearers are Chris Zeagler, Jeremy Zeagler, Paul Zeagler, John McCraw, Brent Welch, and Nathan Ritchey. Although the ALS made her body frail and weak, her strong faith in God never wavered. This faith not only gave her the strength to go on for several years, but to love life without bitterness.

She has truly been an inspiration and rdzt/ of strength to her family throughout her last years.
