Obituary for James Larry Stone James Larry Stone, age 76, born November 28, 1941 passed to his heavenly home on July 12, 2018. Services will be held at Memory Chapel on Saturday, July 14th. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and the service will follow at 11 a.m. with interment at Memorial Gardens.

Rev. Ken Harrison will officiate. Mr. Stone was an engineer with Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding where he retired after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Glade Baptist Church. He loved people, was an avid “do it yourselfer”, and enjoyed puttering around in his shop fixing things that were broken. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Stone and Minnie Lee Mathis Stone. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Verna Lee Riley Stone; two sons, James Anthony Stone (Nicole) and Timothy Daniel Stone; brother, Robert M. Stone (Bobbie); sister, Evelyn Stone McCarty; grandchildren, Reese Koster, Phoebe Stone, Daphne Stone, and Gabriel Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
