Evelyn Alley Anglin, 91, of Burnsville, graduated from this life to her heavenly home Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Union, SC, she was a daughter of the late Herman M. and Bessie Bolian Alley, and the wife of Thomas Edward Anglin, Sr., who died in 2000. Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Woody and 2 infant brothers.

She was a gifted artist and poet. As a committed and powerful intercessor in prayer, Evelyn impacted the lives of people around the world. Her love for the Lord was reflected in her sweet, gracious spirit as she extended His love to everyone she met.

Surviving are a daughter: Kathy Burns and husband, Jeff, of Burnsville; a son: Tom Anglin and wife, Tammy, of Spruce Pine; a sister: Henrietta Hastings and husband, Edd, of Doque, VA; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law: Franklin Woody of Burnsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4PM Sunday at The Bridge Church of WNC in Spruce Pine.

Pastor David Gillespie will officiate. A private burial will be held at Holcombe Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Yancey County, 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714, or Gideons of Yancey County, P. O. Box 264, Burnsville, NC 28714.
