Mary June Bryan Buckner, 86, of Asheboro, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, at Brookdale Senior Living. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Bryan. June was also preceded in death by her husband: Edwin Earl Buckner; brother: Edgar Bryan and sister: Gail Roland.

She attended beauty school, was married and moved to Randolph County. June became manager and instructor at Troutman’s Beauty School in Greensboro, and later a dental receptionist in Asheboro. As a member of First Presbyterian Church she served as a youth group leader and was a 5B’s committee member.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Lynn Buckner of Asheboro; grandson: Taylor Buckner of Charlotte; sister: Earlene Hensley of Burnsville; and brothers: Roy Bryan of Evans, GA and Edwin Bryan (Loretta) of Marion. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 6 until 8PM.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 1PM at Cane River Baptist Church Cemetery in Burnsville. Bryan Hensley, her nephew, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care Hospice, 533 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
