Floyd Stanley Troxell July 31, 1928 – February 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Floyd Troxell, 90, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Banning, CA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Peter Becker Community. He was the loving husband of Elemina “Myne” (Cooper) Maxwell for 15 years and his late 1st wife, Grace Virginia (Cooper) Troxell for 49 years. Floyd was born in Easton, Pennsylvania to the late Frederick Stewart Troxell and the late Minnie Esther (Campbell) Troxell.

He graduated from Wilson Borough High School, class of 1946. Floyd worked as a service station attendant for the former ESSO gas station in Easton, PA, as a switchboard operator in the US Army during the Korean War, as a plumber for Myers Plumbing in Quakertown, PA, as a deliveryman for the former Ross Distributing in Easton, PA, as a printer for American Can, Dixie Cup Division in Anaheim, CA, and as self-employed owner of a Charles Chips Franchise in Irvine, CA, until retiring in 1989. He attended Souderton Mennonite Church and previously was a member of The Fellowship of the Pass in Beaumont, CA where he served in their food outreach, The Pantry.

Floyd was a former president of the Edison High School Booster Club in Huntington Beach, CA and a founding member of the Peter Becker Community Railroad Club in Harleysville, PA. He enjoyed camping, singing, and traveling throughout the US and Europe as well as cruises to the Caribbean, Hawaii & Panama Canal. Floyd also enjoyed watching all sports, especially Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies.

He loved WWII History Books, listening to Big Band music, golfing, and model railroading. Floyd was a jokester and had great sense of humor. He had a good smile and was well-known by others.

Floyd was a natty dresser and a good story teller who could a spin a yarn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Susan Carol Schmidt & husband, Steven of Riverside, CA; his son, Joseph Lee Troxell & wife, Denise of Post Falls, ID; his step-daughter, Cheryl Dawn Hufnagle of Sellersville, PA; his step-son, Robert Preston Maxwell & wife, Ruth Ann of Blooming Glen, PA; his three grandsons, Matthew Ryan Schmidt & wife, Crystal of Murrieta, CA, Adam Kyle Schmidt of Santa Monica, CA, Daniel Lee Troxell of Post Falls, ID; his two granddaughters, Alyssa Nicole Coggins & husband, CJ of Cedar Park, TX, Kayla Rae Troxell of Spokane Valley, WA; his step-grandson, William Peter Hufnagle of Sellersville, PA; his three step-granddaughters, Dawn Michelle Parente of Telford, PA, Shelley Ann Book & husband, Mitch of Richlandtown, PA, Carrie Lynn Cochran & husband, Tim of Storrs, CT; his three great-grandchildren – Emily, Avery, & Kinley; his six step-great-grandchildren – Dominique, Marcus, Joel, Hannah, Guilliam, & Cooper; his three sisters, Janet B. Stone & husband, William of Easton, PA, Minnie Dutter of Lancaster, PA, & Jean T. (John) Beam of Bath, PA. In addition to his parents and 1st wife, Floyd was preceded in death by: his sister, Margaret Campbell Troxell, his brother, Raymond Robert Troxell, Sr., his brother, Thomas Daniel Troxell, his brother, Arlington “Art” William Troxell, his brother, Charles Roland Troxell, his brother, Frederick Stewart Troxell, Jr., his sister, Blanche Elmira Strunk, his sister, Gladys Mae Sparrow, his sister, Bessie Louise Steed, his brother, Earl John Troxell, and his brother, George Harold Troxell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964. Inurnment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
