Ulrich, 64, devoted husband and father died on Monday, February 25, 2019 following a valiant battle with bile duct cancer. Born on July 9, 1954 in Doylestown, PA, Mark grew up on a farm in Bedminster, Bucks County and loved nature, especially trees, throughout his life. Along with his love of nature, Mark had a deep appreciation for classical music and played the violin in the Bucks County Symphony in the 1970s.

He completed an Associate Degree at Bucks County Community College, and thereafter Mark learned landscaping and tree trimming. Mark met his wife, Cathy, in 1983 when he accepted a Pepsi Challenge from his future wife. Married in 1986, Mark and Cathy moved to Egypt in 1989 during which time Mark taught music at the Pakistan International School.

Upon return to the States, Mark began working for Asplundh in 1994 and continued working there until his death. He was a lifetime member of American Forests. Mark was also an avid traveler having visited Turkey, China, Mexico, Italy, Greece, Russia and many other destinations.

A kind and loving father to his only son, Philip, Mark was consistently active in his son’s life, attending Philip’s chorus concerts and musicals at Souderton Area High School and coaching his son’s Souderton Intramural Soccer League team for several years. Mark was never prouder than when he witnessed Phil’s graduation from Bloomsburg University in 2017. Mark was predeceased by his parents, Edward A. Ulrich and Mary Lucile Nuse (Smith), and sister, Carol Tritt.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathlyn Mariscotti and devoted son, Philip Ulrich. He is also survived by family members including Janine Mariscotti, David Mariscotti, Stephen Fabiani, Marisa Mariscotti, Joan Mariscotti, Jen Schu, dear friends including Mildred Savard, Mark’s aunt, Laura Ulrich and cousin, Peter Ulrich, and his sisters Rita Griffin and Elaine Geary. Mark is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many Asplundh brothers who loved him.

In keeping with Mark’s wishes, a memorial celebration will take place in the spring. Please check the Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory website at www. andersfh.com sometime in late May for service details.
