Francis Xavier Pliska August 07, 1931 – December 13, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Francis Xavier Pliska, age 87, of Caro, formerly of Mayville, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. Frank was born August 7, 1931 in Oconto, WI to the late Frank and Lillian (Donlevy) Pliska. He served his country as a first Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Frank married Connie Sugden on June 12, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville where they were members. He was the choir director at the church for 30+ years. Frank retired from Mayville Public School after 30 years as the band director and 9 years as a teacher.

He continued to work as a lay minister and chaplain at the Seton Center in Marlette, MI. Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife and he loved music. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Connie and one niece, Christine Edelbrock.

Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline Simon. The Family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Avram Funeral Home and from 10 AM until the time of service Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Avram funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 315 Ohmer Rd. , Mayville, MI 48744 with Father Jerzy Dobosz officiating. Burial will follow in Rich Township Cemetery.

Military Honors will be provided by the Mayville VFW Post #10884 and the Mayville American Legion Post #181. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frank Pliska Scholarship Fund at Mayville Public School. Friends may share an online condolence at www.
