Obituary for Frank Hale Mr. Frank J. Hale, age 80, of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Thursday (June 21, 2018) at his home. Born March 7, 1938 in Clell, Virginia, he was a son of the late Jacob and Ada Arwood Hale. A lifelong resident of the Buchanan and Russell county areas, he was a disabled coal miner.

He was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Scotty Mitchell Hale and Stanley Matthew Hale and his wife, Rhonda Baldwin Hale Salyers; son-in-law, Timothy Scott Elswick; five brothers, Paul Hale, Bufford Hale, Arnold Hale, Cecil “C.B.” Hale, and Larry Hale; two sisters, Pauline Owens and husband, David, and Peggy Whited. Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Goldie Stilwell Hale of the home; two sons, Stoney Hale and wife, Lisa of Grundy and Steven Hale and wife, Deanna of Swords Creek; one daughter, Jennifer Looney and husband, William of Vansant; daughters-in-law, Kathy Hale Hayes and husband, Rodney and Tracey Hale; seven grandsons, Stoney Hale, II, Scotty Hale, II, Jeremy Elswick, Jessee Elswick, Cory Elswick, Ryan Hale, and Logan Hale; three granddaughters, Melissa Bailey, Amy Cabana, and Kayla Hale; six great-grandsons, Talen Bailey, Parker Bailey, Dominic Cabana, Caleb Elswick, Isaac Elswick, and Stoney Hale, III; one great-granddaughter, Emily Lester; one sister, Ruth McGlothlin and husband, Herman; one brother, Ron Hale and wife, Brenda; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Stoney Hale, II, Scotty Hale, II, Jeremy Elswick, Jessee Elswick, Cory Elswick, Ryan Hale, and Logan Hale. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Arvil Arwood officiating.
