George’s Obituary George Allan Green, II, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at West Shore Hospital. Born July 28, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late George A. Green and Bertha A. (Burke) Bowshier, he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Kathryn Burke. George was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and had worked as a corrections officer at the Camp Hill State Correctional Institution until his retirement.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Central PA Corvette Club. George was an avid fan of dirt track racing and spent many nights at both the local Silver Spring and Williams Grove Speedways over the years. He also enjoyed playing poker, watching NFL football, and traveling to the Caribbean.

Most of all, however, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter and his Dobermans. Surviving is his loving wife, Elaine Emerick-Green; his son, Shawn Williams and wife Kimbarley of Mechanicsburg; his granddaughter, Olivia Williams; his siblings, Kathryn A. DePuy and husband William P. Jr. of Enola, Edward B. Green and wife Beth of Enola, and Larry W. Green and wife Jennifer of Torrance, CA; his mother-in-law, Joyce Emerick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 1 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Interment with military honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
