Roy’s Obituary Roy Franklin Wevodau, age 90, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Thornwald Home in Carlisle. Born September 11, 1928 in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late Warren and Catherine (Kauffman) Wevodau. Roy was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1948 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He retired from Hempt Brothers where he had worked as a property maintenance foreman. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wertzville and was a member of the American Legion Post 109. In his free time he enjoyed his model train hobby, gardening, traveling, and going to his property in Perry County.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty V. (Wolf) Wevodau and by his siblings, Ray Kenneth Wevodau and Betty Cornman. Surviving are his children, James W. Wevodau and wife Lori of Myrtle Beach, SC and Shirley A. White and husband David of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Dan, Joe, Kyle, and Jessica; and three great-grandchildren, Tucker, Presley, and Declan. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Tuesday, February 26 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a viewing from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Burial will take place in Stone Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
