George’s Obituary QUEENSBURY — George J. Rozakis, 62, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Queensbury on January 14, 2019. George was born on December 5, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late James G. and Teresa (Canfield) Rozakis.

George was a long time resident of Queensbury and owner/operator of the Glens Falls Army Navy store on Dix Ave, which was founded by his late father. George served the South Queensbury Fire Department for many years. He loved to socialize and had a great sense of humor.

He was kind and selfless with a generous spirit and charismatic personality that made him likable to all. He will be missed greatly by his family and a myriad of friends. George is survived by his three sisters, Stelene(Kiriakos) Sarris of Huntsville, AL, Irene (Randy) LaRock of South Glens Falls, NY, and Arlene (Edward) Cardinale of Queensbury, NY; a niece, Christie Cardinale of Washington D.C.; and several nephews, James Cardinale of Queensbury, NY, DeanSarris of Los Angeles, CA, Demetri Sarris of Atlanta, GA and Yianni Sarris of Atlanta, GA.

Calling hours will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A private burial will follow at the Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember George may make a contribution in his memory to the St. George Orthodox Church, 55 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
