George W. Yeager, 94, of Countryside Christian Community, Annville passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Born September 18,1923 in Farmington, Missouri, he was the fourth son of the late Willard Franklin and Maggie Dean (Horton) Yeager. He was the widower of Frances V. (Schott) Yeager and was preceded in death his brothers Edward L., Milton P. and Thomas A. Yeager.

A lifelong Baptist, having memberships in Missouri, Georgia, Hershey, Pennsylvania and lastly Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he served in numerous church offices and was a deacon for over 50 years. George was the owner of several stores in St. Louis, Missouri and when moving to Pennsylvania he worked for Jones Motor Trucking and Penn Dairy both of Lancaster. Retiring at age 50 from public work, he spent 20 years at Green Dragon, Lancaster County selling used books.

He was a U. S. Army veteran serving from 1949 – 1950 and then served 12 years with the Army Reserves. George and Frances traveled extensively visiting 25 countries and all 50 states. The last of his immediate family, surviving are nephews Linn Yeager of Tennessee and Robert Yeager of Georgia.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 30, 2018 at Countryside Christian Community Chapel, 200 Bellann Court, Annville, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Private interment will be in Broadview Cemetery, Hershey. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Christian Community, 200 Bellann Court, Annville, PA 17003.
