Obituary of George Alexander George Robert Alexander, 83, of Hebron, died on Thursday, April 19, 2018 peacefully at his home. Born on November 23, 1934 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer Alexander, Sr. and Amanda Hopkins Alexander. In 1955, George entered the United States Air Force, where he faithful served our country for 20 years until his retirement in 1975.

In addition to his military service to our country, he enjoyed bowling and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. George was a member of the American Legion in Hebron, Uprising Church in Hebron and a life member of the VFW Post #194.

George is survived by the love of his life for 58 happy years, Shirley M. Shores Alexander, three sons, Jay (Becky) Shores, Gary Shores, and George (Leny) Alexander Jr.; two daughters, Lisa Wilkinson and Victoria Ward; eight grandchildren, Tracy (Stephen) Horner, Lonetta Shores, Angie (Jason) Siver, Amber (Blake) Taft, Jessie (Dustin) Spies, Robert (Johanna) Figgs, James (Megan) Alexander, and Gary (Susan) Shores Jr.; a brother, Woodrow (Dorothy) Jones; as well as several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Alexander, Jr. and Hollis Jones, Sr., a sister, Carrie Lemon, and a great-grandson, Tyler Shores. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
