Georgia M. Powers, 73, of Kewanee, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 5:10 pm at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria after a short battle with cancer. Georgia was born January 17, 1945 in Kewanee, the daughter of Robert and Dora (Sizemore) Puckett. Georgia married Terry Powers on February 14, 1982, he preceded her in death in 2007.

Georgia is survived by one son, Michael Gould (Jessica Hand) of Kewanee; one daughter, Gloria (Jarrod) Miller of Colona; two granddaughters, Megan and Grace… Read More » Miller; also surviving are Jessica Hand’s children, Sydney and Ben Hand; numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Stan and Sharon DeSmit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry; brothers, Carl, Ken, Bob; sisters, Kathy, Nola and Joyce; special friend, Donnie Ouart. Georgia was an independent home health care provider.

She loved fishing with her sister Nola and gardening. She especially enjoyed keeping up with her pond for everyone’s enjoyment. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy.

A Private Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Monsignor Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice and the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Please leave an online condolence for Georgia’s family at www.
