Gilbert Zane “Gibbie” Harness, 80, of High View, WV died on Monday, April 30, 2018 at his home. Gibbie was born on January 30, 1938 in Wardensville, WV, the son of the late Gilbert Z. and Harriett Catherine “Hattie” Garrett Harness. He was a lead electrician for Abex/Federal Mogul in Winchester, VA for nearly 40 years.

Surviving is his daughter: Tina Brison and husband Andy of Hurricane, WV; his granddaughter: Claire “CB” Brison and longtime companion: Ann Jewel. Gibbie was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A funeral service will be held at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, WV on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1 PM.

Officiating will be Rev. Mike Funkhouser. Interment will follow in the Wardensville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capon Springs Vol. Fire & Rescue, PO Box 366, Capon Springs, WV 26823.
