Gloria’s Obituary Gloria Heizelman, 76, Minot, ND passed away on Thursday, February 21st, 2019 in a Minot assisted living facility with family by her side. Gloria Ethel Smith was born September 3rd, 1942, a daughter of Joseph A and Rose (Affeldt) Smith in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in the Sawyer area and graduated from Sawyer High School in 1961.

On July 23rd, 1961 Gloria was united in marriage to Garry Heizelman in Sawyer. They made their home in Minot where she worked various jobs until 1990 when she bought the Flaky Crust in Dakota Square Mall. She owned and operated the store until her retirement in 2004.

Garry retired from Rolac Construction in 2006. They enjoyed “going for a drive” until 2017, when due to health conditions she moved into an assisted living facility. Garry and Gloria are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Minot.

Gloria is survived by: her loving husband of 58 years, Garry; Children: Gerald Heizelman, Bothell, WA, Grant (Sheryl) Heizelman, Minot, Glenn Heizelman, Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren: Cody Heizelman, Minot and Wyatt Heizelman, St. Paul, MN. Siblings: Ruth Jefferson, Granada Hills, CA, Audrey Combs, Lakeville, MN, and JoAnn Patterson, Norwich, ND. Several nieces, nephews also survive.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Wayne, Marlo, and Gary. Six brothers-in-laws and one sister-in-law. Visitation: Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 from 3-6pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Funeral Service: Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Memorials may be given in Gloria’s memory to Trinity Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
