Grace Brancaleone passed away to eternal peace at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her devoted children and family by her side on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Grace was born to Marianna and Salvatore Lucido in Terrasini Sicily, Italy on August 19, 1932. She followed her family to Gloucester in June 1947.
She briefly worked in the fish packing industry. Shortly after meeting the love of her life Joseph, they married in Gloucester and moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Joseph was stationed in the U.S. Army for two years. Following his discharge from the service, they returned to Gloucester to raise a family.
Grace was the most devoted wife and mother and took great joy in caring for her family. She raised her six children while her husband was away fishing. She was an extraordinary matriarch and wife of a fisherman.
When her husband retired and her children were on their own, she spent time traveling with Joseph and they often wintered in Florida. Grace was a member of the Madonna del Rosario Society and Mother of Grace Club. She was a devout communicant of Holy Family Parish until her illness prevented from attending.
She spent many of her days at home in prayer. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking. She was happiest with a house full of family, especially during the holidays.
The Brancaleone family would like to extended their deepest appreciation to the staff at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center especially to Tina, Jennifer, Ann Marie, Dave, Amanda, Shannon, Justin, Maria and Carmen.
