Obituary for Mrs. Hazel Sims Porter Hazel Sims Porter, 70, wife of the late Gerald Lane Porter, Sr., of 121 Old Chapman Bridge Road, Salem passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Francis Downtown. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Porter was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruby Collins Sims. She was a member of Mt.

Carmel #2 Baptist Church. Mrs. Porter is survived by her son: Eddie Porter (Jenny) of Tamassee; brother: Edward Sims of Walhalla; sister: Eunice Sims Carson of Seneca; grandchildren: Nichole Porter, Corey Porter, Justin Porter and Breanna Porter; great-grandchildren: Will Porter, Harper Harris, Keegan Harris, and Madelyn Porter. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her son: Lane Porter; brothers: Marshall Sims, Tommy Sims, Woodrow Sims, Ray Sims, and Nelson Sims; and sister: Emily Shed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 9, 2018, at Mt. Carmel #2 Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home.
