Herbert’s Obituary Herbert Franklin “Pop” Casdorph, affectionately known as Huggin Herb, 85, of South Charleston, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House West after a short illness. He was born on July 13, 1933 in South Charleston, to the late Roy and Verna Casdorph. Herb retired from Columbia Gas Transmission after many years of service and was very proud of his time there.

He always had a smile and a hug for anyone that would accept it. His final act of giving was to donate his body to West Virginia University. In addition to his parents he was recently preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara Ann Casdorph.

He is survived by his son, Carl Casdorph (Carmen) of South Charleston; daughter, Carla Shelton (Ray) of South Charleston; sister, Rebecca Ann Crowder of South Charleston; granddaughter, Cari Casdorph; great grandson, Caiden Davis; and niece, Deborah Bender. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Bill Tanzey officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House West, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311, or The Alzheimer’s Association West Virginia Chapter, 1601 2nd Ave, Charleston, WV 25387.
