Ina’s Obituary Ina Maud (Stanford) Megason went home to Heaven on January 20, 2019. Although cancer stole her life, she lived graciously and courageously until the very end. Ina was born on October 23, 1931, in Malta, Texas to Lois Edmona and Yancy Leonard Stanford.

She was a loving mother and homemaker, and in the 1960’s attended college to become a nurse. Her career included Wadley Hospital, the nursing home in DeKalb, private duty nursing and six years at RRAD. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 29 years James Megason, her sisters Lulu Mozelle Tate and Mary Helen Grilliett, her brothers Alvin Stanford and Lloyd Welton Stanford, and her only son, Lester Paul Byes, Sr

She is survived by her daughters, Becky Jean and son-in-law Donny Thomas of Old Salem, Texas, Sharon Kay Hanna, Edith Norene Byes and Ella D. Byes of Texarkana, Arkansas; step-daughters Arlene Herbert and Christine Garrett of Malta, Texas; her sister Nelda and brother-in-law Larry Huneke; her dear friend and sister-in-law Evelyn Megason; 19 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ina was truly a beautiful Christian who had a wonderful relationship with the Lord. She touched many lives and was a great influence on many people accepting Christ as their Savior.

Funeral services will be at Chapelwood Funeral Home, 1015 N. Kings Highway, Nash Texas on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Malta Cemetery following the service.
