Obituary for Jack Grant Barnette Jack Grant Barnette, age 76, of the Belfast area of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Lebanon, VA. Jack was born in Belfast, VA, and was the son of Conley and Marianna Grant Barnette. Jack was an amazing husband, Dad, and Granddaddy.

He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1959. Jack loved being in the mountains of Southwest VA, and was an avid horseback rider. He also enjoyed raising cattle, reading, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jack was a devout Christian and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Claypool Hill Bible Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ellen Barnette; and sister, Jeanette Snead.

He is survived by: Three Daughters: Marquette Grant Wagner and husband, Matthew of Paola, KS Jacqueline Ellen Kennedy and husband, Rick of Tazewell, VA Penny Elaine Nimmo and husband, Bryon of Pounding Mill, VA Grandchildren: Dally Elaine Testerman and husband, Hunter; Lucas Pate Kennedy, Samantha Grace Wagner, Martha Ellen Nimmo, Colton Alexander Wagner, and Marianna Raye Nimmo A host of family and friends also survive. A memorial service for Jack Grant Barnette will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Claypool Hill Bible Church with the Rev. Steve and Carl Tegler officiating.

The Barnette family will receive friends at the church from 6 pm until time of service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Southland Bible Institute; 238 W. Southland Dr.; Ashland, KY 41102; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105.
