Obituary for James “Jimbo” Marvin Peery James “Jimbo” Marvin Peery, age 53 of Raven, VA died Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. He was born July 25, 1965 in Pulaski, VA and was the son of James W. Peery of Baptist Valley, VA and the late Betty Irene Rasnake Peery. James was a 1983 Graduate of Graham High School and had worked as a Corrections Officer for the Bland County Correctional Center.

Jimbo loved fishing and enjoyed music. He was a United States Navy Veteran. In addition to his father, those who survive to cherish his memory include two daughters, Jessika Harless and husband, Jeremy of Bland County, VA and Michaela Peery of Blacksburg, VA; several other relatives and friends also survive.

Memorial services for James “Jimbo” Marvin Peery will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with his daughter, Michaela Peery delivering the eulogy. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service and burial will be private.
