Obituary for Ralph Eugene Kinder Ralph Eugene Kinder age 85 of Tazewell, VA died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home. He was born May 28, 1933 in Tazewell County, VA and was a son of the late James Melvin Kinder and Georgia Pearl Puckett Kinder. Ralph had worked as a self employed painter and carpenter for many years.
He coached Little League Baseball for over twenty-five years and was an avid coon hunter and fisherman. Mr. Kinder was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War era and was a member of the American Legion Post #0133 in Tazewell, VA where he had over fifty years of membership. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Pierce “Spider” Kinder and Columbus Herbert “Chalk Eye” Kinder.
Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Dorothy Hardy Kinder; daughter, Patricia Kinder Beavers and husband, Brent of Tazewell, VA; grandson, Bradley Beavers of Johnson City, TN; brother, James Nelson “J.N.” Kinder and wife, Mary Ann of Waynesboro, VA; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Legacy Hospice for their professional and compassionate care. Chapel Services for Ralph Eugene Kinder will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating, burial the service.
Pallbearers will be Henry Christian, David Kinder, Nick Reagan, Homer Hardy, Bradley Beavers and Jason Hodge. Mike Kinder, Mike Hodge, Virgil Hardy, Brent Beavers, Bill Christian, Bill Waddle and James Waddle will serve as honorary pallbearers. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the members of Barns-Beavers VFW Post #7136 in Tazewell, VA and the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard in Gate City, VA.
There will be no public visitation prior to the Chapel Service on Saturday, October 11, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Legacy Hospice: 1963 Second Street, Richlands, VA 24641; or a charity of your choice.
