Obituary for Bobby J. White Bobby J. White, age 85, of Swords Creek, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his home. Bobby was born on July 27, 1933 in Swords Creek, Virginia to the late Herman and Lola Mae Dye White. He was retired from being a bread salesman for Kerns Bakery for 34 years.
Mr. White attended Swords Creek Community Baptist Church. He was a 59 year Mason in the Pruner Lodge #254 AF & AM Honaker, Virginia. Bobby was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Vandyke; two nephews, William Jeffery White and Michael Wayne White; and brother-in-law, Roger Compton; and sister in law, Louise White. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Mildred Honaker White Daughter, Vickie White Vandyke and husband, Houston of Swords Creek, Virginia Son, Bobby J. White, Jr. of Swords Creek, Virginia Brothers Dorce White of Swords Creek, Virginia Tolbert White and wife, Jean of Abingdon, Virginia Perry White and wife, Annette of Swords Creek, Virginia Roger White and wife, Alicia of Floyd, Virginia Granddaughter, Amanda Brooke Vandyke Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Bobby J. White will be conducted at 7 PM on Thursday evening, November 15, 2018 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Reverend Les Ritchie and the Reverend Arnold King officiating.
Committal services will be conducted on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 1 PM at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Those who wish to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM to line up. Pallbearers will be: Casey Dye, Clark Dye, Barry White, Brian White, Chris Compton, John Miller, and Nathan Hayes.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dorce, Carl, Tolbert, Perry and Roger White, Rick Miller, Dallas Honaker, Jimmy Honaker, Garland Honaker, Harvey Gent and Jimmy Musick. The family will receive friends at from 5 PM to 7PM on Thursday evening, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.
