Obituary for Carson Franklin Hawks Carson Franklin Hawks, age 81 of North Tazewell, VA died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. He was born January 20, 1937 at McRoberts, KY and was a son of the late William C. and Minnie Frances Boyles Hawks. Carson was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and had nineteen years of service.
He loved football and was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer and Pittsburg Steelers fan. He enjoyed anything relating to the military and liked watching military documentaries. Carson also collected coins and enjoyed playing the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Connell, Dorothy Ritchie and Billie Miller; one brother, Clinton Hawks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Hettie Charles. Those who survive to cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Katherin Hawks; six children, Anthony Steven Hawks of Honaker, VA, Clinton Michael Hawks and wife, Mary Ann of Rosedale, VA, Brian Carson Hawks and wife, Charmayne of Alabama, Nicole Lynn Keen of Richlands, VA, Aaron Dean Hawks of the home and Mellie Regina Hawks of Bandy, VA; three sisters, Janet Puckett, Myra Owens Coffey of Iva, SC and Lydia Gross of Beckley, WV; one brother, Michael Hawks; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special fur baby, Shadow; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends also survive. Funeral services for Carson Franklin Hawks will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with James Charles officiating.
Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Steve Hawks, Clint Hawks, Brian Hawks, Aaron Hawks and Carson’s grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018.
