Obituary for Phil Stanley Mabe Phil Stanley Mabe, age 67, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 in an Abingdon hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Richlands and was the son of the late James S. and Dortha Wingo Mabe, formerly of Holy Road in Richlands, Virginia. Phil was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1970.

He was a former employee of United Coal Co. of Grundy, Virginia and was of the Church of Christ faith. He had lived all his life in the Richlands area. He is survived by: His sister, Patricia Lockhart and husband, Billy Lee of Yorktown, VA His brother, Ronnie Mabe and wife Cathy of Rock Hill, S.C. Nieces, Katrina, Kristy and Jennifer Nephews, Kevin and Joshua Several great nieces, nephews and friends also survive him.

Funeral services for Phil Mabe will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Ethel Watson and Rev. Carter Wells officiating.

Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends at 12:00 pm on Tuesday until time of the service.
