Obituary for Robert Harold Belcher Robert Harold Belcher, age 86, of Richlands, VA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 following a lengthy fight with Alzheimer’s Disease and cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years and his daughters. He was born on June 28, 1932 in Dunleary, KY to the late Rudy and Leon Hurley Belcher.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving as a Staff Sargent during the Korean War. He worked as an office manager for several finance companies and was also a car salesman. His hobbies included fishing and he was an avid reader.
His favorite past time and greatest joy was spending time with his family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Dale Belcher and Billy Belcher; three sisters, Marie Stanley Adkins, Maxie Sue Evans, and Kelpie Lou Senters; and one son in law, Steve Morgan. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors are: His Wife: Donna Sue Ratliff Belcher Three Daughters: Rhonda Morgan of Claypool Hill, Virginia Beth Mays and husband, Tim of Pounding Mill, Virginia Luana Kay Keene and husband, Dale of Bandy, Virginia Grandchildren: Madonna Morgan Blair, Steven Daniel Morgan, Lindsey Keene Compton, Jared Keene, Wesley Mays, and Dylan Mays Great Grandchildren: Seth Morgan, Portia Morgan, Cash Compton, Addi-Grace Compton, Bowen Compton, Harper Blair, Morgan Blair, Emery Keene, Nolan Mays, and Calum Mays The family would like to say a special thank you to the loving staff of Legacy Hospice in Richlands, Virginia. They have been Earth Angels during his time of need. Also, thanks to JoAnn Horn for her love, help, and support during his illness.
Funeral services for Robert Harold Belcher will be conducted Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Dr. Marc Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Hankins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Daniel Morgan, Roy Blair, Ashton Compton, Jared Keene, Wesley Mays and Dylan Mays.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
