Obituary for James R. “Tiny” Leonard, Jr. James R. “Tiny” Leonard, Jr., 56 of Medicine Lodge, KS, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at his residence. He was born on January 23, 1962 in Wichita, KS, the son of the late James R. Leonard, Sr., and Yetive (Pribbenow) Leonard of Texas. On April 25, 2015, he married Janet (Timmis) Leonard in Medicine Lodge, KS.

She survives. Tiny was a police officer for the Medicine Lodge Police Department. He grew up in Hewins, KS and graduated from Cedar Vale High School in Cedar Vale, KS.

Tiny was a member of the Father’s House of Worship, Sun City, KS and the Masonic Lodge of Winfield, KS. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served for 23 years. Surviving is his wife, Janet Leonard of Medicine Lodge, KS; his mother, Yetive Leonard-Thompson of Texas; four sons, James R. Leonard, III of Arkansas City, KS, Jon (Michelle) Leonard of Germany, Jarred Vega of Topeka, KS, and Xavier Leonard of Winfield, KS; two daughters, Leslie (Clint) Bass of Cedar Vale, KS and Natasha (John) Ordonio of Fort Knox, KY; twelve grandchildren; two brothers.

Floyd Leonard of Lander, WY and David Leonard of Winfield, KS; six sisters, Lovina (Gary) Wolgamott of Pittsburg, KS, Lauretta (Dave) Gifford of Louisburg, KS, Ladonna (Jody) Kraft of Kismet, KS, Laura (Kevin) Bright of Pratt, KS, Lisa (Kevin) Dorman of Bartlesville, OK, and Latonya Cox of Cedar Vale, KS; Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Deitra Black and Rev.

TaLena Martin officiating. Inurnment with military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard will follow at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS. Memorials may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
