Obituary for Janet Wydner Janet Wydner, 84, of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ. Janet was born in Washington, NJ on July 28, 1934 to the late Frederick Cecile Halstead Lawton and Florence Desher Lawton. Janet was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company in Bridgeport, CT, where she received the honor of being “Miss Voice and Curtesy”.

She was also, at one time, a switch board operator at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ and a packer with M&M Mars of Hackettstown, NJ. She was a graduate of North Hunterdon High School, Class of 1953. Janet enjoyed shopping, traveling, yard sales, and crocheting.

In earlier years, she enjoyed going to concerts with her sister, Florence. Janet is survived by daughter, Debbie Gittins and her husband, Jeff; sons, William Benson and wife Lori, Fred Benson and wife Patsy, and Lee Stocker; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gittins and her husband Michael Zaladonis, Kayla Benson, William Benson III and his wife, Nicole, Lindsey Benson, and Allison Benson; great-granddaughter, Lilith Benson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews to include John Lawton, Terry Lawton, Linda Verta. Janet was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Wydner, William Benson and Weldon Stocker; brothers, Arthur, Lawrence, Robert; and a sister, Florence.

A Funeral Service for Janet will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 12pm at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 10am until service time at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in Janet’s name to the Greenwich Township Emergency Squad; 516 North Main Street; Stewartsville, NJ 08886.
