Meyer Bade, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Brook Gardens in Lake Mills. She was born on November 23, 1924 in Lake Mills, the only daughter of the late Fred and Helen (Topel) Meyer. She was a graduate of the Lake Mills High School, class of 1942.

Joan married Lynn “Pin” Bade of Lake Mills on February 15, 1947 at the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. He died on June 17, 1997.

For 28 years she had worked as a clerk and checker for area grocery stores such as Nadler Grocery, DeRemer’s Grocery, and later Steve’s Grocery Store. She was known by many. Joan enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and watching the birds.

She was a member of the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Survivors include her grandson, Josh Pajac; one great grandson, Isaac Pajac; two sister-in-laws; nieces; nephews; special friend, Ann Barker Copsey; and other relatives and friends.

Also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol J. Pajac on November 30, 1978; five brothers, Howard, Donald, Louis, Roger, and Lorin “Moose” Meyer; and numerous brother and sister-in-laws. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service. Burial will be in Rock Lake Cemetery. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul Ev.
