Wayne Sanmann, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Medicine Park officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Valley Cemetery north of Lawton.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. JoAnn Anderson, 74, Lawton passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Lawton. She was born August 12, 1944 in Seagoville, Texas to Jessie C. and Beatrice (Kirby) Ballard.

She graduated from high school in Lancaster, Texas and later married William Gordon “Bill” Anderson on November 2, 1962 in Dallas, Texas. The couple was married for 56 years. The family moved to Lawton around 1966.

JoAnn was a bookkeeper for most of her working life in the Lawton area. The majority of her bookkeeping work was done at the Cosmetic Specialty Labs and the Medicine Park Telephone Company. She participated in activities at the Wichita Mountains Senior Citizens Center and worked at the Comanche County Election Board.

She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She loved her animals which included dogs, cats and horses. JoAnn enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their activities and was very proud of her grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Her great grandchildren brought her much happiness. She was a devout Christian but lately was unable to attend church due to her health. JoAnn is survived by her husband of the home, a daughter, Wendy Foster and husband Gordon, daughter-in-law, Shelly Anderson, six grandchildren, Mark Billings and wife Jennifer of Lawton, Matthew Billings of New York City, New York, Page Billings of Oklahoma City, Allison Prout of Meers, Clint Gordon and wife Jen of Lawton, Casey Foster and wife Lindsey of Edmond, five great grandchildren, Maverick Billings, Noah Billings, Harrison Foster, Valkyrie Gordon, Jaxon Gordon, brother, Clayton Ballard and wife Jeanie of Norman, sister, Betty Northcutt of Point, Texas, sister-in-law, Cathy Ballard of Irving, Texas and many other relatives and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, son, Randy Anderson, brother, Benny Ballard, mother-in-law, Gladys (Clark) Anderson, father-in-law, Andy Anderson and nephew, Terry Northcutt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paradise Valley Community Cemetery, 4974 NW Meers Porter Hill Rd. , Lawton, OK 73507.
