Joanna Garee December 29, 1926 – January 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Joanna Garee, 92, of Columbia City died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City where she had been a resident since November 2017. She was born December 29, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Alice Luella (Ervin) Engle. Her formative years were spent in Warsaw.

She had worked for Jomac North in Warsaw for over 40 years. In 2003, she moved to Columbia City to be closer to her daughters. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Y. (Walter) Shepherd, Columbia City, Michael (Del) Garee, Warsaw and Debbie L. (Henry) Beard, Columbia City; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Wilbur “Jimmer” Engle of Wyoming.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Evans, Ethel Truex, Eva Tripp, Betty Hoppus and brothers, Glenn, John, Jr., and Charles Engle. There will be no services. Arrangements were entrusted to Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
