Bennett III, 70, passed away March 7 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the Director of Safety and Training for Niagara Mohawk retiring in 2002. He was the former president of Long Pond Rod & Gun Club.

He was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman. He was predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Bennett and his sister Marcia Schenck. John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne Demers Bennett; three sons, Jason (Betsy), Jack (Rachel), & Patrick (Laurel) Bennett; 8 grandchildren; a brother, James Bennett; four sisters, Hazel White, Dorothy Ann Palmer, Alice Ryan & Linda Galan; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10AM Tuesday March 12 at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tpk. Interment Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
