Obituary for John D. Bachrach Dobbs Ferry resident, John Bachrach passed away on October 1 at Cabrini of Westchester after a long illness. He was 91. John was born to Alfred and Alice Bachrach on December 25, 1926 in New York City.

He graduated from Horace Mann in 1944 and from Princeton University in 1948. In 1951 he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea as a forward observer. Following his tour of service, John went to work for Owens Illinois in the corrugated box division.

Later, he worked for Star Corrugated. In 1977, John married Mary Max Morgenthau and lived in White Plains until 1982 when they moved to Villas on the Ridge in Dobbs Ferry. John was deeply involved in volunteer work mostly at the Irvington Middle School.

He will be deeply missed helping at the school store, dances and other activities. His presence will also be missed at the varsity girls basketball games. John is survived by his wife Mary, sister Ellin in Williamsburg, Virginia.
