John Dallas Hardin, 49, husband of Dottie Apsey Hardin, of 314 Woodland Drive, Seneca, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at his home. A native of Oconee County, SC, Dallas was the son of the late J. R. and Carter Hardin. Dallas was a graduate of Seneca High School in 1987.

He was a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92, Seneca Masonic Lodge #185 and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. Dallas was an Eagle Scout and retired from Seneca Fire Department and was a former Seneca Police Officer. Dallas was also a member of Oconee County’s Search and Rescue Crew and Swift Water Rescue Crew.

He was an avid diver and HAM radio operator. Dallas was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Dallas is survived by his son: John Tyler Hardin of the home; daughter: Amber Nicole “Nikki” Hardin of the home; and sisters: Tina Hardin Stephens (Terry) of Walhalla and Robin Hardin Metler (Rob Atkinson) of Seneca.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM, Wednesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John Hardin Memorial Fund, PO Box 571, Walhalla, SC 29691.
